What a difference a month makes! It’s just been an incredibly busy month with baby stuff mostly. People aren’t kidding when they say that kids change your life! We’ve had our first ambulance ride, first NICU overnight stay, first experience being peed on, first spit up in our mouths, etc!
The good news is that the health issues with the little one was just jaundice and was resolved with some special lights and an overnight stay.
The other fun experience with the baby has been all of the medical bills! Between Mrs. Jane and Little One the bills were roughly $15,000-$20,000 but after insurance we ended up owing about $5,000.
We are having to dispute one of the bills because we were charged $500 for some supplies that we were specifically told we would not be charged for. Before the service we even declined it because we didn’t want to pay for it but were assured that it was covered in the hospitals expense.
We’ve also already had to buy more diapers, bottles, and other supplies.
So far we’ve been able to avoid buying too much “stuff” for her, primarily from generous friends and family that gave us a lot of diapers, wipes, etc. but that stuff runs out quick!
